POIs of Lycian Way “Patara”

Patara is renowned for its sprawling sandy beach, one of the longest in Turkey, and as the birthplace of Saint Nicholas, the inspiration for Santa Claus. It was also an important port city in Lycian times. Visitors can explore its well-preserved ruins, including a Roman theater, baths, and the recently restored parliament building, which hosted one of the world’s earliest democratic assemblies.
