Explore the Lycian Way – West, Central & East
Our Lycian Way tours explore one of Turkey’s best-known long-distance walking routes, from Fethiye and Ölüdeniz in the west to the mountains near Antalya in the east. Different sections of the trail offer very different landscapes, walking conditions and ways to travel.
Choose a private guided or self-guided journey across the Western, Central or Eastern Lycian Way. You can walk one section, combine several sections or ask us to shape a longer journey around your available time and walking experience.
Choose Your Lycian Way Route
Lycian Way West – Fethiye to Kaş
For many first-time walkers, Western Lycia is a natural place to begin. The route starts around Fethiye and Ölüdeniz and continues through Faralya, Kabak, Alınca and the landscapes around Patara before reaching Kaş.
We generally recommend the western section to travellers walking the Lycian Way for the first time. It combines coastal and mountain scenery with ancient Lycian sites, while shops, water sources and practical services are available more frequently along many stages.

Lycian Way Central – Kaş, Kekova, Demre & Finike
Central Lycia continues east from Kaş through the landscapes of Kekova and Demre towards Finike. This section brings coastal walking together with archaeological sites and quieter parts of the Lycian countryside.
It is particularly suitable for travellers interested in combining walking with the archaeological landscape of Lycia. It also forms the natural continuation for walkers arriving in Kaş from the western section.

Lycian Way East – Mediterranean Coast to the Mountains
The eastern section begins around Karaöz and follows the Mediterranean landscapes of Gelidonya, Adrasan, Olympos and Çıralı before climbing towards Beycik and Mt. Tahtalı. From here, the character of the Lycian Way changes as the route enters the mountains of the Western Taurus.
The Lycian Way East is generally better suited to walkers with some previous hiking experience. Longer ascents and descents, mountainous terrain and more remote stages make preparation and realistic daily distances particularly important.

Guided or Self-Guided Lycian Way Tours
You do not have to follow one standard itinerary. Our Lycian Way tours can be organised as private guided or self-guided journeys, depending on how independently you want to travel.
Self-guided programmes can include detailed route information, GPS tracks and the logistical support agreed for your journey. For guided programmes, professional licensed guides accompany you according to the final itinerary and availability.
If you are not yet sure which section is right for you, start with our Lycian Way Walking Tour – West, Central & East. It provides an overview of the different sections and can also form the basis of a longer tailor-made journey.
Lycian Way Travel Services
You can also use our practical services without booking a complete walking programme. This is useful if you prefer to organise your own accommodation and itinerary but need local logistical support along the trail.
Luggage Transfers
Walking the Lycian Way does not mean carrying your full luggage every day. We can transport your main luggage between selected accommodations while you walk with a smaller daypack.
See our Lycian Way Luggage Transfer Service for independent walkers and groups.
Airport & Trail Transfers
Private transfers can connect airports, accommodation and selected access points along the Lycian Way. Antalya is particularly useful for the eastern sections and for journeys finishing around Central or Eastern Lycia.

Combine Different Sections of the Lycian Way
You do not have to choose between West, Central and East as completely separate journeys. The sections can form building blocks for a longer itinerary, and the number of walking days can be adapted to your available time.
Tell us where you would like to start, how many days you have and whether you prefer a guided or self-guided journey. We can help you decide which sections work together and organise the practical details around your route.
Local Knowledge & Professional Organisation
Our Lycian Way programmes combine walking with local accommodation, regional food, archaeological landscapes and practical support along the trail. We design each journey around the realities of walking a long-distance route rather than treating the Lycian Way as one fixed package.
Professional licensed guides lead our guided programmes. Globe Outdoors Travel, a TÜRSAB-certified travel agency (Document No. A-17542), organises the travel arrangements.
