Day 1: Arrival – Göbeklitepe & Karahantepe and Şanlıurfa Museums
The tour begins after a morning flight to Urfa Airport (or you can arrive one day earlier). Our first stops are Göbeklitepe & Karahantepe, the world’s oldest known temple complex, followed by visits to the Şanlıurfa Museum and Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum, providing insights into Mesopotamian history. Lunch highlights the traditional cuisine. We’re going to be transferred to our pension located in a village on the slopes of Mt. Nemrut where our dinner and overnight accommodation will be here as well
Day 2: Perre Ancient City – Zey Village – Indere Canyon (17 km)
The day starts with a short transfer to Perre Ancient City, a former Roman garrison, where our hike begins. The trail passes through Zey Village and continues into the stunning Indere Canyon, with a loop back to Zey Village. After completing the hike, we return to to our a village for dinner and an overnight stay. A traditional breakfast may be included during the trip, offering simple yet delightful local flavors.
Day 3: Cendere Bridge – Kahta Castle – Arsemeia – Sırakaya (21 km)
Following a very short transfer, we begin our hike from Cendere Bridge, visiting Kahta Castle (a Mamluk structure) and the Devil’s Bridge accordingly. The trail ascends to Arsemeia, established by Antiochus I as a tribute to his father, Mithridates I Callinicus, who was the previous king of the Kingdom of Commagene. The site served not only as a summer residence and ceremonial center but also as a royal cult site dedicated to his father’s memory. Fascinating hike.
After the hike, we’re going to put on our coats, shells and pants and watch the sunset on Mt. Nemrut, a truly magical experience. As the sun begins to descend, the golden light illuminates the giant stone statues of gods and kings, casting long shadows and creating a breathtaking atmosphere, where we will make the summit by hiking.
Day 4: Peak of Mt. Nemrut (Tumulus) (13 km)
After breakfast, we transfer to Kayadibi Village to begin our hike. The journey takes us to the summit of Mt. Nemrut, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring the monumental tomb of Antiochus I and incredible panoramic views. After a break, we descend along the old ceremonial route, with a stop for lunch and refreshments at the visitor center. The hike concludes at the foothills of Mt. Nemrut, followed by dinner and overnight stay in Damlacık Village.
Day 5: Departure from Adıyaman
After breakfast, we depart from the local guesthouse for a 20-minute transfer to Sırakaya Village, where our hike will begin. We will pack our bags and check out of the guesthouse in the morning.
Throughout the hike, we’ll enjoy stunning views of the vast plains irrigated by the Cendere Stream, as well as the iconic Cendere Bridge and the surrounding landscapes. The unforgettable scenery will accompany us along the way.
After the hike, we descend to Arsemeia and finish our hike. After a short break we’re going to be transferred to Adıyaman Airport for departure
